SPORTS CENTRE CONSULTATION - REJECTION RECOMMENDED

The public consultation exercise regarding the proposal to develop a Gymnastics Training Centre at Dalgety Bay Sports Centre has been completed, and the Community Council's recommendation not to support the proposal was accepted unanimously at the CC meeting of 10 March. Of 127 responses received from the public, 19% were in favour of the proposal but 81% were against. The CC's recommendation reads as follows:

"The CC accepts the outcome of the public consultation which is against the Trust's proposals to develop a Gymnastics Training Centre at Dalgety Bay Sports Centre but supports the Trust and the Acrobay Gymnastics Club to seek external funding to develop a new facility in the area and within the CC's scope to identify an alternative venue on the Industrial Estate or one that might be obtained from planning gain. With reference to the approved budget item in Appendix 3 (p50) of FC, the £100,000 being made available should be used for this purpose."
